The home measuring guide

1. Check the Size of Your Chosen Product

Before buying, check the length, width, and height of the product. Compare these measurements with your available space to ensure it fits. Don't forget to measure hallways and doorways if the item needs to be carried through them.

2. Measure the Space in Your Room

Make sure the item will fit in your room without blocking doors, windows, or walkways. Think about how much space you’ll need to move around comfortably. Also, consider where you’ll place other furniture to avoid a cramped setup.

3. Measure Your Front Door

  • Option 1: Open your front door as wide as possible and measure the height, width, and diagonal space of the doorway.

Option 2: If the item will be carried in at an angle, measure the diagonal width of both the product and the doorframe to make sure it fits.

4. Measure Hallways and Internal Doors

Check if your hallways are wide enough to move the product through. Measure any doors along the way, as well as tight corners or obstacles like radiators or shelves.

5. Measure Stairways and Stairs

If you need to carry the item upstairs, measure the width of the stairs and the height of the ceiling above. If there’s a landing, check if there’s enough space to turn the item without difficulty.

6. Get the Space Ready for Delivery
After confirming that your product fits and can be transported to the desired location, it's time to prepare for delivery. Start by clearing the room of any furniture or clutter.

Next, check that the access route is free from obstacles. Move any fragile items, such as houseplants or picture frames, to a secure spot to prevent accidental damage during the delivery.

What to do if it looks like your furniture won’t fit

If you haven’t ordered your product yet but the dimensions look a little too wide to fit in your home, consider something a little smaller or at least more portable. If you're not 100% sure on whether it'll fit or not, speak to our sales team who will be happy to guide you.

If you’ve already ordered your furniture and it looks like it won’t fit, give customer services a call as soon as possible. We may be able to help you change your order. If your order arrives at your home and doesn’t fit you can still exchange it, you’ll just be charged a reselection fee and new delivery charge.
